Orange River

We crossed the border back into South Africa at Vioolsdrift.  Our camp is near the border, and you can pretty much swim the Orange River between Namibia and South Africa from our camp.  I can get air time for my South African SIM card now.  We’re back in contact.  That being said, it’s been wonderful to be without Internet, phone, TV etc. for these few weeks, not a sacrifice at all.  While no one wants to miss important news from home, it was liberating to have to refocus out attention, communicate with one another, and entertain ourselves.

This campsite was more grassy than the past few, and it’s setting by the Orange River was lively.  There were two resident dogs, Sam and Mufta.  Campers were encouraged to get their leashes and take them for walks.  Nicola and Lee-Anne did just that, while some others when canoeing, and the rest of us relaxed on the deck with some drinks.  Donny and Jeff had VJ cut their hair.  After dinner some played a silly bar jenga with the bartenders, and nothing happened between Pam and any one of them.
