Trawal to Cape Town

The scenery was beautiful as we came out of the mountains.  Rolling green hills, pastures and fields seemed to go on forever.  There were yellow wildflowers, grazing sheep and cows, and the odd small farm.  Brian gave up the valuables he’d been guarding for us, and we prepared for our arrival in Cape Town.  Some had to leave within a few days, Amy would be starting a volunteer program north of the city, others were planning to explore South Africa.

We relaxed in Cape Town for the next few days, making good use of the bar at Ashanti (where were were welcomed back with open arms).  Our final group dinner was at Khaya Nyama on Long Street.  The food was excellent, and there was live music as well.  They specialized in game meats, so there were a number of kudu, springbok, eland skewers, crocodile loins, etc. around the table.  I had a scrumptious lamb curry.
