We spent a ton of time and Rand catching up the blog these few days. Readers may be overwhelmed! Evenings were for saying goodbye to members of our group. From Esther (the Canadian girl who seemed like an old friend from the beginning), we inherited a TON of stuff so she was able to get her bag closed. There were bottles of insect repellent, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, first aid supplies, toilet paper…the list goes on. I have NO idea where she was able to hide it all away all this time, but to be fair, she’d only been following the pre-departure notes from Absolute. As it turned out, tampons were NOT hard to find, prices for sunscreen and such were quite reasonable, and (maybe since it was winter?) mozzies weren’t launching an attack at all times.
We decided to rent a car and head east along the coast, so we said our farewells to Claire and Bryce, Suzanne, Pam, Esther, Emma, Sarah and Jeff, who would all be gone by the time we returned.
You are right! I’ve spent a lot of time reading, but it is great fun. My cousin Steve called tonight, and the two of us laughed as we looked at the pictures and read the blog. We definitely are living vicariously through your trip. What a silly thing to do on a Friday night! Don’t stop writing and taking pictures. We’re having a great time in the US with your trip! 🙂
