The Diamond Lake Track near Wanaka leads past it’s namesake body of water, then up to the summit of Rocky Hill. The views from the top were fantastic and gave us a great idea of how the glaciers had carved out this amazing landscape. We were a bit parched when we got back down the mountain, so we head to Wanaka Beerworks, a small brewery owned and operated by an ex pat from Cali. We had a tour and samples, and encouraged by those, bought a full glass (Brewski for me, and a Tall Black for D) to enjoy out in the sunshine of this perfect-weather day.
PuzzlingWorld was next, and we had a blast investigating the architecture, puzzle room, Hall of Following Faces, holograms, room of perspectives and tilted room. There was also a big Maze which we happily roamed around looking for the four corners for a while (There are 1.5 k of maze, but most people walk 3 -5 k before getting back out.).
Barbecued lambchops were on the menu for dinner, cooked on the grill outside at the holiday park. With a green salad and another bottle of wine, it made for a perfect dinner, and a great way to end a great day.
I clicked on Puzzled above and got a slideshow of all your latest photos. I am perplexed by the optical illusion room, or is it? The photos are terrific. Auckland looks very clean and healthy. I loved the chess set (I want one) and the one where Heather is sitting on tree roots or are they? The way the blog is set up one reads the latest blog first.

Yes, those were treet roots…an amazing tree. The optical illusion room was full of them…quite interesting. You would have liked it. HT
PS Jan asked me what the Hearse is all about.
