Goodby Tango City

On a sunny Sunday afternoon, we wandered around the neighborhood of San Telmo.  The street market was interesting, with people playing all kinds of music and selling crafts, art, clothes, antiques…pretty much anything you can imagine.  It was HOT, and we ended up trying to escape the heat in a little 2nd floor spot called El Balcón (the Balcony).  The food was yummy, wine tasty, beer cold, and they had live music (tango) and dancing (tango show, and another dance and music form from the countryside).  It was all capped off with coffee and, of course, flan casero…this time mixto (which involves BOTH dulce de leche and creme on top).

On our last night in Buenos Aires, we had great conversation and fun on the balcony of the hostel with our lovely new friends, French couple, Adele and Cedric.  We shared stories of our travels, experiences and plans, and wished we were heading in the same direction!  We caught our flight to Ushiaia early in the morning, and arrived to beautiful weather.  It was warm and sunny, much nicer than we expected.  We explored the town at the End of the Earth, in front of the Beagle Canal.  We visited a museum and learned about the indigenous inhabitants of the area.  Photos coming soon.
