Auckland

It seemed almost strange to have to take out our passports again, but yes, we have crossed another border.  Our flight into New Zealand provided spectacular views of rolling hills, turquoise water and a first glimpse at New Zealand’s biggest city.

We spent our first days orienting ourselves, catching the blog up after our whirlwind Sydney visit, and exploring the highlights of this fun city!  With only a few days here before we go exploring the Northland we are trying to gather up as much information as possible for when we pass back through.

We have managed to sneak in a couple of geocaches here.  We’ve dropped a coin that we found in Adelaide with John Cormack and we’ve continued our Cadillac Hearse mission (wink jjc).  We had worked up an appetite after out caching and walking so we head down to the wharf to see the offerings.  We decided on the Viaduct Grill and were not disappointed.  Fish and chips and lamb shank special, they were worth writing home!
